| The HV-Transformer |
is a Neon-Sign-Transformer with 5kV - 0 - 5kV 50/70 mA = 10 kV and 500 - 700 VA.
The input power is 3 Ampere, that would be computationally 690 Watts. |
| The Primary Coil
(Primärspule) |
from a copper tube 6 mm in diameter was wound. Inside diameter is 165 mm, distance between the windings 6 mm, outside diameter 403 mm with 9,8 turns. for mounting on the plate I used plastic angle 20x10 mm, which onto 20 mm distance pipes from plastic, with M3-srews was likewise installed. |
| The Primary Capacitator

During a nominal output voltage of the Transformer of 10.000 volts. I mounted 20 impulse-condensers FKP1-100nF 650 ~ V of WIMA, on a hole raster plate to switch into series.
The in such a way received capacity amounts to 5 nF.
Now the desired capacity from 20 nF to receive, I manufactured and parallel switched 4 of such plates. And it was soldered on parallel to each condenser a resistor 1M/1W, in order to avoid mentioned like already, remainder charges when switching off. |
| The Secondary Coil

On a PVC drain pipe 110 mm of outside diameters was wound 925 turns of 0.53 mm magnet wire, on a length by 536 mm. Remained above 20 mm for the discharge, down 50 mm for ground connection. |
| The Spark Gap

7 or 6 subject is adjustable and consists of 8 copper tubes 12x1x50 mm. Distance in each case 0.6 mm, the core of aluminum full material, for the better cooling and assembly in a Plexi housing, which with 230 V exhaust is operated. |
| The Safety Spark Gap

Is a double spark gap with 3 pieces 2.4 mm of tungsten needles, in brass pins is adjustable fixed.The middle connection is grounded. The spark gap is adjusted with 5 - 6 mm each distance. |
| Tesla Coil Safety Chokes

On PVC pipes 18 mm in diameter and 80 mm long are 50 turns magnet wire 1 mm wound. For the increase of inductance is installed inside a ferrite rod. |
